SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY COMPETITION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN 2023

On February 1 and 2, 2023, Vinh Long Provincial Department of Education and Training cooperated with Vinh Long University of Technology Education (VLUTE) to organize a Provincial Science and Technology Competition for high school students, the school year 2022-2023.

There are 44 units participating in the competition, including: 21 junior high schools – high schools, high schools and 23 junior high schools of 6 Departments of Education and Training, with 71 projects in 16 fields related to social sciences and natural sciences, with 115 pupils.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Truong Thanh Nhuan – Director of the Department of Education and Training said, “The competition aims to encourage pupils to do scientific research, create techniques and technologies, and apply the knowledge they have learned to solve practical problems, thereby improving the quality of training, scientific research activities, comprehensive innovation in teaching and learning at secondary educational institutions.”

Accompanying this year’s competition, VLUTE continues to be the host organization, appointing lecturers to participate in the Jury, the Organizing Committee, and at the same time participate in professional support training for 2 topics approved by the Organizing Committee to participate in the National Competition held in Quang Ninh Province in March 2023.

Awarding the first prize to the winning project

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 18 excellent projects/topics, and the first prize was awarded to 2 students (Vo Nguyen Phuong Nguyen, Au Bao Trong) from Hieu Phung Secondary School (Vung Liem District) with the project of an intelligent and versatile garbage identification, classification and treatment system.
