CENTER FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND NATIONAL DEFENSE – SECURITY

FUNCTIONS

Assisting the Rector and Vice Rector in training and teaching management of the subject Physical Education and National Defense Education at all levels and training systems; taking responsibility for training quality, management of personnel, property, equipment, facilities managed by the Department.

Organizing and implementing the development of programs, updating programs and teaching materials in accordance with actual conditions to ensure training quality;
Planning, organizing teaching, evaluating learning results in the field of physical education and national defense education at all levels and training systems;
Coordinating with relevant units to carry out scientific research, organizing physical training and sports movements;
Coordinating with relevant departments to develop plans for development, training and retraining to improve professional qualifications for lecturers in the Department.
Performing other duties as ordered by the Rector.

Compulsory courses: Basic gymnastics + athletics (short run + weightlifting)
The elective courses consist of the following 5 subjects:
Football
Volleyball
Athletics
Badminton
Martial Arts

In 2016:
– The Department of Physical Education & National Defense Education achieved an achievement of the advanced labor collective.
– Individuals in the Department:
+ Phung Van Thien achieved the emulation competitor at the grassroots level and the certificate of merit from Vinh Long Provincial Labor Confederation (Excellent completion in strong trade union emulation movement in 2016).
+ Nguyen Thi Hong Trang received a certificate of merit from the grassroots Trade Union of the University for the excellent labor emulation movement and won the second prize at the university-level lecture conference.
+ Diep Xuan Tai received a certificate of merit from the grassroots Trade Union of the University for the excellent labor emulation movement.
– Training students to participate in the annual traditional January 9 tournament organized by Vinh Long province, winning the following prizes:
+ Men’s tug of war: 1 first prize
+ Women’s tug of war: 1 second prize
+ Men’s fell running: 1 second prize
+ Men’s football: 1 third prize
+ Women’s football: 1 third prize
+ Men’s volleyball: 1 consolation prize
– Participating in the student badminton tournament in the Mekong Delta in Can Tho (for lecturers) and having won the first prize in the male lecturer’s doubles.
– Participating in the Sports Festival of officials and employees organized by the Labor Union of Vinh Long Province in July 2016 and having won 2 consolation prizes for men’s and women’s fell running.
– Participating in the Sports Festival on the establishment of the Invalids and Social Affairs sector in the southern provinces in 2016 and having won 1 first prize in tug of war.
– Participating in the Sports Festival of emulation block VII and having won 3 first prizes: tug of war, men’s sack jump, women’s sack jump.
