TRAINING ENGINEERS TO WORK IN JAPAN


On March 3, 2021, Vinh Long University of Technology Education (VLUTE) and Esuhai Co., Ltd (ESUHAI) signed a cooperation agreement on training program for engineers to work in Japan.

The meeting had the presence of Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh – Member of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of People’s Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Hung Phi – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of VLUTE; Mr. Le Long Son – Director of ESUHAI Co., Ltd., leaders of the Provincial Party Committee of Agency & Enterprise Division; local departments; high schools in the province; leaders of the units under VLUTE and ESUHAI.

Accordingly, VLUTE and ESUHAI cooperated to establish a Center for Training Engineers – Employment in Japan at VLUTE, a training center according to orders from enterprises, specifically from Esuhai Company. The Center has the function of coordinating the training program for engineers to work in Japan, training Japanese language ability, training and practicing necessary skills for students to meet the requirements of Japanese employers, orienting career development for students enrolled in the program, supporting information for students when they need to learn and answering questions about the program.

The first course is expected to enroll 250 students for 5 majors: Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology, Food Technology. Students register in the form of admission with 4 methods: considering high school graduation exam scores, high school transcripts, direct admission and admission based on scores from the National University Competence Assessment Exam.

Students participating in the training program for engineers to work in Japan will be divided into 3 phases.

Stage 1: Successful students will be trained for a period of 04 years and will be equipped with good technical knowledge after graduation; with a Japanese level of N3 or N2 and an understanding of Japanese culture. They will have experience, skills, working style in Japanese environment; proficiently use computer tools in service of management and specialized techniques; and adapt well to Japanese management and working standards such as Kaizen, 5S, QC, QA, PDCA, Horenso, etc.

Stage 2: After graduating from a university program, depending on the recruitment needs and time of the employer, the capacity of each student, the matching characteristics between the employer and the student, students can choose one of the work programs in Japan such as Engineering Program; Specific Skills Program (Tokutei); Technical Internship Program.

Stage 3: Completing the first program and returning home. Students can then choose to work domestically (Human resources after returning home will continue to work and aim to become key officials, middle managers, skilled technicians, start-up and connect Vietnamese businesses with Japanese provinces/cities) or continue to work in Japan under the Engineering Program or Specific Skills Program.

The cooperation between the two units is aimed at training human resources according to the requirements of the labor market, meeting well in terms of knowledge, skills, attitudes and high adaptability to the development of science and technology, mastering technology and solving 100% of jobs for students as soon as they are admitted with the opportunity to work in Japan. This is a potential market and brings many benefits to high-quality Vietnamese workers in general and the Mekong Delta region in particular.
